This unique show was written and created by Brandon Smollet (pen name Brandon Birch) — a writer and filmmaker from Canada. The first episode was painstakingly made with love over the course of three long years and literally moved with Brandon across the country. It was written and recorded in the basement of a small, rented house in Toronto, filmed with a green screen and a dream in a Montreal apartment, and edited in the attic of a house where he now resides in Stratford. He didn't do it alone — he enlisted the help of his wife, producer Danielle Dewar, and brother-in-law, musician and acoustics engineer Tim Gully. Together they cobbled one 30-minute episode together with the dream of one day producing a full season.
The show centers around a two-dimensional stick-figure family with three-dimensional hopes, dreams, fears and flaws. So far only one episode has been produced — that’s where you come in! We need your help to create the rest of Season 1. Please contribute to our Kickstarter campaign so we can fund future episodes of The Stickmans to share with you. There are some neat perks for you if you can lend us a hand. Some of them will put you right in the show!
